NEW AND INTERESTING… maybe

new stuff… it happpens all the time RIGHT?

probablly.

well there is this thing i found out about called WUALA it is pretty cool. and probably where the future is headed in terms of internet and home machines becoming more of the same. it is still in private alpha
but i know a guy who set me up with an invite. you start of with 1 GB online storage for free and then you can share idle hard drive space to get online hard drive space equal to the percentage of time you are online (not necessarily logged in mind you, just with the program on and connected to the net) times the amount of space you share, to a min of 17 % of the time (about 4 hrs a day). so i am sharing 15GB and have about 20% so i get 3 extra gigs. which is pretty cool considering i can access this stuff from any machine that i have the program installed on. the program it self is pretty light weight at about 10 mgs unpacked, it is easily put on a flash drive. it does require Java however, so it may not be as convenient in some situations as other methods of storage. the ability to store files on the net may seem like a novel concept but the thing i like most is the ability to let friends have access to some of your files. it essentially becomes a P2P network… which is pretty cool. now i am not advocating piracy but it is a nice way of sending a friend a document you have, or sharing with your friends (or even the general Wuala community) a video you made.

ADDED:

So ya I was looking for some more info on wuala to give y’all and I found this great post by liquidat. it says everything that I want to address in a better way than i could so check it out. ;P

END ADDED

Each member of Wuala is given some invites to give out to let other people get in on it during the alpha so, if you are interested i got 14 left(out of 20) so the first 14 people to either leave a comment with their email or Email Me at Robopanda333@nitrocorp.hopto.org, expressing an interest in it will have ‘em.

in other news i have resurected my old site… well mostly. i am building it from the ground up. hopefully i will have full functionality by this time next week… but it is looking pretty doubtful… but so far it has been a great learning experiance. I went, in 5 days, from not knowing any PHP to being fairly proficeant, and more importantly; went from hating it to loving it. YAY PHP. right now there is very nearly no content, but soon i hope to have an FFR clone(i mean CLONE!) as well as a full area devoted to my increadible knowledge of the FFR underworkings, (and my, and deathbobs FFRBOT, o ya) so check it out, and leave some comments (here though… no comment system, yet ;P ) Http://nitrocorp.hopto.org

well that’s all i got for now!

Bye-Q!
