Play dem games
Ya so I didn’t really post yesterday… so sue me. Actually don’t, plz…
Video-game pretty cool guy, eh takes my time and doesn’t afraid of anything. On a more serious note I like them, I sure do. And why not. Video games have become a media very adept at getting as story of moral told. Albeit most games don’t used this to their advantage, preferring to be a game where you mindlessly kill hordes of aliens, zombies, puppies, whatever. But hey it’s fun.
Now my first gaming console was the nes… none of my siblings know we had one so I feel special. I miss it so. It was YEARS before we ever got a new one. At the time there was three systems but only 2 that anyone cared about…(reminds me of something…) the 64 and the PS. Aww those were the days right. But if you really want to know, the dream cast was the best one, really. Look at the specs. (Even more it reminds me of the same thing…) in fact the dream cast was the one I petionioned for, my parents wouldn’t have any of it. They were like ‘too expensive’ so then I was like ok… PS and they were like here’s this 64, and I was like ‘*forced enthusiasm* yay…” but in retrospect I really liked my 64, even if I am like the one person that is able to say they had a 64 and not Mario 64… (Ours came with Star Foxx, which is cool too.) All the games we ever got for it other than 2 I personally bought, for some reason my parents think that the system itself is sufficient because for joy… why I will never know. The years went by and I became more and more a pc person and less a console player mainly because the system was fast going out of date, and the games was becoming monotonous. But even so the only games I really ever got were free ones I downloaded, for the reason that my parents don’t buy games… like ever.
When the Xbox came out it was thought of completely differently than it is now… (Think more like PS2 which is what it seemed like it was desperately trying to be.) Some of you remember this time. Well when it came out I seriously wanted one… but alas I grew and we never updated, no game cube, no Xbox, no PS2. I wanted to cry all the games I couldn’t play. Time went by and technology increased, halo comes out soon after the Xbox turns into the Xbox so many people think of today. My first choice changes to PS2. The 360 comes out. Then all of a sudden out of the blue, for NO REASON, my parents come home one night with an Xbox… an Xbox. No, not a 360… for the love of god. It literally made me want to shoot myself. I had on many occasions said that I hated FPS’ that they were all the same, and that the Xbox had very few not-FPS games. So ya. It kinda sucked. Again my parents bought one game with it but this time for Christmas and stuff they get used sports games and stuff to (2$ games ya know…) I think they musta thought it would be funny to throw money away. The few games I bought for it I liked, HL2, Star Wars Battle Front 2, Morrowind. I really like them… so then last Christmas, after the current gen consoles come out, my mom is like what system you want. And I am like the ‘not 360’ so either the PS3, which while over priced and little to no good games, at least can be used to play PS2 games which I love a lot of; or the Wii, which is packed up in a bundle of awesome. My mom suddenly got a little disheartened… the word ‘damn’ echoed through my mind so loudly I almost went deaf. But she got rock band with it which is pretty frigin tight, so I couldn’t complain for a few weeks. Then I realized that while I hate FPS’ I really love the controller which is so perfect to not use it to play awesome action games is a mortal sin, and that I had been sinning for weeks. My mom still won’t buy games, but I has a job so I convinced her to let me buy games. The game I bought was Mass Effect. SWEET GAME. That is all there is to it. I love the game like I love caffeine and techno music. But really when I looked it was the only 360 game I wanted, besides that naruto game, which I rented and beat in one sitting, so it was kinda like… do I even need to spend more money? But like I saw this advertisement about Lost Odyssey and as it went I was like ‘yay another awesome Jarpiga(pronounce jrpg for me) that I’ll never get to play” then it was like *werip*360 and I was like OMFWG I must see this. I like Jarpigas I like them a lot. I which that I could play more, so when they say. “It is just a recycled, polished, JRPG. Just like every other FF game” I was ecstatic. I went to the store to buy it today, but they didn’t have it, but the guy who was there (an aquatance of mine…) started to talk about how I really wished that I had a PS2 so I could play awesome JRPGs and he was all “well that new tales game is going to be only on 360 and there is another square release that will be on it too, so ya know the 360 isn’t all bad.” Then I walked to the display case, and it was like over the past month, (literally) the 360 went from all FPS to like an otakus console. I mean DMC4, just came out, the there is that 99 nights game, phantasy star, and a few others. I was like OMG. Also there is that Mirrors Edge game by dice. This game I am really looking forward to. It reminds me of something that valve would put out, instead of the Battlefield guys… but the thing is it looks AMAZING. I think that it is going on my wish list for Christmas, release fall so it should be out!
So my gaming history has been fraught with stupid blunders but it looks like fate is finally turning around and finding me in its light.
Also I don’t have halo one two or three. I played 2 and beat it in one sitting on accident, so I didn’t think I was worth the money. The plot was horribly generic and ‘game play’ isn’t quite the right word to describe it because both game and play imply enjoyment is happing, which it wasn’t. So ya. Don’t kill me, I just don’t like it. I also think that Gears of war had horrible graphics that made me want to puke, and halo style kill stuff game play.
Check out these stuff!

Well
Bye-Q!

I still like my Wii.
Next month we get Okami. I don’t have a PS2, so this will be awesome.
And there’s a good chance we’ll get the best Indie downloads ever soon. Even better than the 360 has right now.
But mostly, I’m PC trying desperately to be Linux.
really I’m just glad I get to play games that don’t feel like committing slow and painful suicide.
